Highlights
Mike graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) degree in 2003 and is currently in the final stages of a Master of Science (Kinesiology) degree with a focus in neuromuscular physiology.
Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® through the National strength and Conditioning Association and was also an instructor at Memorial University of Newfoundland for five years, teaching courses in the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation as well as Labs in the schools of Nursing and Pharmacy.
Mike has wide ranges of work experience spanning from clinical rehab to elite athlete strength and conditioning. He is also actively involved in continuing education. Currently Mike is preparing to upgrade from the former Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant (PFLC) certification to the new Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification, through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP).
At IOHS, Mike is involved with the development and monitoring of clinic-based occupational rehabilitation programs, enhanced fitness programs, fitness testing, exercise prescription and injury prevention training.
