Jane graduated from Dalhousie University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Since 1990, she has specialized in vocational rehabilitation in hospital-based team and single discipline programs until the establishment of Integrated Occupational Health Services (IOHS) in March 1994. As president/owner, Jane is committed to quality assurance in all services provided by IOHS.

Jane has had extensive training in vocational rehabilitation including a professional residency program from Roy Matheson and Associates, and ergonomic training from the University of Michigan, along with numerous workshops, conferences and seminars in assessment, treatment, and injury prevention programming. She is certified to administer the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS), a standardized assessment of homemaking and everyday living activities. She is certified to administer the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP), a structured goal oriented pain management program. She has also completed an ISO 9000 internal auditor course to guide the improvement of our quality assurance program.

Well respected in her field, Jane serves as a leading industry professional. In this capacity she has provided formal presentations to many groups, including the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers’ Council, Occupational and Environmental Medical Association of Canada, and on numerous occasions, the OT Atlantic Conferences. In 1996, she received the Times Mirror Book Prize from fellow Dalhousie alumni for her contribution to the profession of occupational therapy in the area of vocational rehabilitation in the Atlantic region. In September of 2006, Jane was honoured with a “True Rotarian Award” for her contribution to Rotary International in the area of Youth Exchange.

Memberships include the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT), the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Occupational Therapists (NLAOT), the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB), the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), and the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest.

Jane is an NLAOT representative on the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission’s Occupational Rehabilitation Committee, and is currently Board Director, representing Newfoundland and Labrador nationally with the CAOT. In this role, she also sits on the CAOT Risk Management Committee. She is an active member of CAOT Occupational Therapy Practice Committee, and served as president of NLAOT from 1996 to 1997. She is a past board member of the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest and the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers’ Council.
